Awesome Foursome - TGT Releases 4 Hose Dispenser in India - 26 Mar, 2009

India, New Delhi

Answering the call to reduce queues at CNG filling stations in Asia, Tulsa Gas Technologies India (TGT India), subsidiary of Oklahoma based Tulsa Gas Techologies, has released a new four hose dispenser with overwhelming response from gas providers in India and elsewhere. Suitable for either the traditional flat sided station layout, TGT also proposes a unique roundabout layout (see graphic) to ensure easier traffic flow.

TGT India Managing Director Ashok Anand (pictured left), says that one of the problems fuelling stations in India were having was not so much a lack of capacity but a lack of dispenser hoses to ensure maximum flow of CNG. "The average three wheeler auto only takes about 45 seconds to fill so if we can get more autos at the dispenser at once, we can increase throughput at the station."

Speaking at NGV India in New Delhi, TGT's US CEO Tom Sewell (also pictured) said the dispenser was priced to make it as affordable as possible, thus helping to address air quality issues in Asia. The new dispensers use manifolds especially designed for the project by New Zealand based Oasis Engineering, who TGT India now serves as a local agent.

TGT India is also working on integrating Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems into their dispensers. Presenting a paper at NGV India, Anand said the company is already working with regulators in India, aiming to use the RFID system to reduce safety incidents brought about through back yard and unapproved CNG conversions.
